Thank you for reading the review. I honestly like the way you wrote. Sometimes we as readers, or rather I, just don’t connect with some characters or some books. Its frustrating for me especially when I think its a great piece of writing. I am looking forward to something else. And trying this again.

THANK YOU!!!> I am actually doing a guest lecture at FSU sometime in the near future about how adolescents are getting subliminally messaged through the YA books, and how in some instances its a great thing, with good messages about women’s strength and rebellion in the face of misuse of power, and how with some novels its making it okay for girls to be in abusive relationships, for ex, the way Edward treats Bella in Twilight. There’s this podcast that may be of interest to you. It’s from Boise State University’s (where I went to school and work with now actually) Beyond the Blue program, which is a podcast series that spotlights various academics. This week, they are doing one on non-traditional texts, such as vampire or horror, and whether they are “real” literature or not, as well as how adolescents engage with such text.

Thank you so much for the review! Fascinating! I specifically didn’t watch Gangs of New York because I was worried about being influenced. I based all of my writing and research from going to New York itself and digging into the archives of the NYC Library and newspapers of the time. I really liked this one too. Terry really bothered me though. But you are right about Keri. You never feel like she did what she did because she is a bad person. Just the opposite. Great review!
