Review Double Time (A Sinners on Tour Novel) by Olivia Cunning
Olivia Cunning delivers the perfect blend of steamy sex, heartwarming romance, and a wicked sense of humor in this menage story featuring the hottest guy in the Sinners band.
Trey Mills, the notoriously sexy Sinners rhythm guitarist, gives up his bisexual lifestyle and is swept into a hot, heady romance with Reagan Elliot, a female rock star sensation. But when Trey encounters Reagan’s sexy bisexual roommate, Ethan Conner, he can no longer deny who he is or what he wants. Reagan heartily agrees to a solution that opens up a hot new world of sexual experience—and love—with the two men she wants the most.
There is a subtle difference between hot erotic romance, and a story that is all sex and no real character development or character depth or a plot that develops and transforms into something more than just porn strung together. Then there is the netherworld in between. n between acceptable and bad is a place of purgatory for erotic romance stories which is where Double time happens to reside.
See its a good idea. You take a girl who is in a rock band so she’s a free spirit, you throw in one drummer from a different band who is bi and an ex boyfriend who is also bi and viola, the perfect soup of a relationship right? We’ve seen it work in other novels. But here, there is just a lack of depth, there is no SOUL to the book there is no real feeling or empathy or gut or heart, it just reads like really good sex scenes with what could be a fantastic story around it that just falls flat.
I wanted to like this. I really did, but Reagan just never materialized into a full character for me, she never deepened enough to hit her full potential and neither did Trey or Ethan. it was all just super surface and it just didn’t do anything for me.
