Review All I Want is You by Sherrill Bodine

SHE’S STEALING HIS HEART . . .

Vintage boutique owner Venus Smith is stunned to realize her newest acquisition comes with a larcenous legend. Stolen years ago, the antique mermaid brooch belongs to the Clayworth family. The right thing to do would be to return it, but that means facing Connor Clayworth O’Flynn, the sexy department store heir Venus has had an unrequited crush on since childhood-and the man who helped ruin her father.

ONE KISS AT A TIME

Connor knows that Venus has never forgiven him for what happened between their families. But business isn’t personal, even though Venus’s father’s betrayal still cuts him like a knife. So when Venus proposes a deal-she’ll return his family’s brooch if he helps clear her father’s name-he reluctantly agrees. As action-packed days turn into flirtatious fall nights, it isn’t long before old memories resurface . . . and new desires ignite. Can two young lovers leave the past behind? Or must they first admit that all they’ve ever really wanted . . . is each other?

Such an interesting and amazing story. I’m amazed by how a story that is so similar to what I have all ready read but its amazing how nice and how entertaining, and how lovely the story can be even when you’re quite certain you have read similar before.

I loved the atmosphere created by Ms. Bodine. Venus and her sister’s are so fantastically amazing and wonderful to read. I loved reading about their shop, the little trinkets and jewelry they sold as well as the mystery and history that was included about the different pieces and why they became so important to find and trace. I loved the weird and crazy aunts histories that hearkened back generations with their amazing women at their sides, complicit in their good works and in their unsavory practices.

The romance between Connor and Venus was simply a bonus. Their working at cross purposes, with Venus hating him for indicating her father in corporate theft, and with Connor understanding of Venus’ position but knowing the evidence as it was presented to him pointed solely in her fathers direction, but they are both still fighting their deep attraction to each other. The are fighting their mutual dislike and distrust of each other while they are both still trying to work with each other to make Connor’s aunt happy, while also trying to come to terms with what happened to Venus’ father, then trying to find out why Venus’ shop has become the target for criminals.

Its just its like reading vintage Nora Roberts with a new author. Its just that type of story, its that type of family situation and its that type of writing, in skill, voice and ability.

I loved it.
