Review SEAL of My Dreams by Stephanie Bond
Honor, duty, courage, passion . . . the men of the Navy SEALs are a special breed of hero, and in these novellas by eighteen top romance authors the SEALs are celebrated not only as symbols of devoted service to their country but as the kind of men every woman wants to love. They’ll rescue a damsel in distress and her lap dog, too. They’ll battle hometown dramas and international bad guys. When it comes to giving away their hearts, they’ll risk everything.
All proceeds from sales of SEAL of My Dreams go to the Veterans Research Corporation, a non-profit fundraiser for veterans’ medical research.
So this is a collection of VERY short, I’m talking 2, 3 chapter stories about or focused around Navy SEALS, the lore and the mystery and the romance. Now I’m not a fan of the super short romance as an actual story, because its entirely too short but this was a great way to be introduced to some new authors I had not heard of before. All of the authors incuded are Stephanie Bond, Elle Kennedy, Helen Brenna, Kylie Brant, Roxanne St. Clair , Cindy Gerad, Tara Janzen, Alison Kent, HelenKay Dimon, Jami Alden, Leslie Kelly, Jo Leigh, Marliss Melton, Gennita Low, Christie Ridgway, Barbara Samuel, Stephanie Tyler, and Loreth Anne White.
Obviously there are some HUGE heavy hitters in romantic suspense, as well as some authors I’d forgotten about and some new authors I was unfamiliar with. There was no way for the stories to be either great or horrible at this supremely short length. There was no time for character development or plot lines, or anything of the sort, so there’s not much to really review, but what you do get in this collection of super short novels is an idea of how the authors write, what their voices are like, and you really get a good idea of whether or not you would like the authors you are reading. And every penny of this book is going to a great cause, so buy the book so you can be exposed to some new authors, some old favorites that you may have forgotten about and read a great new small novel from an author you love.
Overall Rating: B
